SUICIDE (SYDNEY)

Addressing a Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) healing service at Sydney's Domain,
Mr HOWARD said he hoped he could contribute to a bettter understanding of the social and
human challenges it presented.

Mr HOWARD praised the work of the SPA, a body that brought together people determined
to try and do something to reduce the level of suicide in the community.

Earlier in the day, New South Wales Sports Science graduate BEN CAREY left Sydney's
Town Hall steps for a year-long ride Cycle for Life around Australia, peddling the message
Suicide is Preventable.

Backed by the SPA, he hopes to raise not only awareness by around $1 million through
community and corporate donations.
