VIC: Car goes over cliff, driver survives

A driver has survived plunging off a cliff and into the ocean at Mt Martha, on Victoria's
Mornington Peninsula.

An ambulance spokesman says emergency workers are trying to rescue the driver, after the
car went over the edge of the Esplanade at 9.50am (AEST).

Details of the accident are sketchy, but rescuers think the car is in the waters of Port
Phillip Bay.

The spokesman says he believes the driver is in a stable condition.
