WA: Air crash report indicates symptoms of engine failure

An interim report into a plane crash at a Perth airfield that killed two men says engine
failure may have been a factor in the accident.

The Cessna crashed in scrubland outside Jandakot airport last August, exploding on
impact and killing one person, while another died almost three months later.

An initial report by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau says shortly after take
off the pilot reported the nose of the plane yawing.

The report says the aircraft showed symptoms of engine failure before crashing.

Air traffic controllers at the airport have also reported hearing what sounded like
engine failure.
