WA:Fire burns out 1000 hectares of bushland in WA
One house and 1,000 hectares of bushland have been destroyed by a fire in and aroundthe town of Gingin, some 90 kilometres north of Perth.
About 150 firefighters used 40 firefighting appliances to quell the blaze, which forcedthe evacuation of several residents.
Station Officer RAY BUCHAN says one house in the Frogmoor residential estate has beenburnt to the ground.
There have been no reports of injuries.
Temperatures in Gingin reached 42.7 degrees today, with the nearby Pearce recording 44.1.
Meanwhile, Perth today recorded its second scorcher in a row, with a maximum temperature of 40.7.
