Vic; Home made bomb explodes in boy s face
A 17-year-old youth is recovering in hospital after a home-made chemical bomb exploded
in his face.
The youth from Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs suffered burns to his eyes, his face and neck.
Police say the explosion occurred in the backyard shed of the boy's home at Hollis
Road, Silvan about 11am.
He had mixed a variety of chemicals, put them in a container and inserted a wick.
Police say the mixture exploded as he lit the wick.
He was flown to Melbourne's Alfred Hospital where he's in a stable condition tonight.
